50 Cent Continues Giving’ Back, Even the Haters Got to Give Respect When It’s Due:
You have to take your hats off to any New York MC that gives back to the city’s hungry and those affected by Hurricane Sandy. 50 Cent is part of this movement and continued his efforts this Holiday season. The mogul / MC was putting in work Thanksgiving Eve, giving fans and those less fortunate something to eat as well as a chance to meet the MC himself.
Fif did things right, he went in with legit charities: Feeding America, the Food Network and of course #SMS Audio to dish out meals to his people of New York.
The event was called “Our Table is Yours” held at the Cipriani Restaurant. Fifty made himself assessable to the crowd, not just serving food but working the room, moving from table to table and allowing himself to be photographed with fans.
Feeding the Hungry has been something that 50 has been involved in for a few years now. Proceeds from his energy drink go to feeding the hungry worldwide. Unlike some higher profile celebrities, 50 understands that hunger is a problem not just in third world countries but also here in America. ABC did a special on him and his efforts in Somali. (Although I didn’t agree completely with their Take on 50).
Hunger is something that 50 knows a lot about. He explained to MTV,

“[Hunger,] it’s a world issue, it’s not a third-world issue, One in six Americans are actually going hungry. You got kids that’s surviving based on their school lunch and more than one out of five kids are experiencing hunger.”After dishing up the meals on Wednesday night, 50 retreated to his grandmothers’ to enjoy his holiday. He said he knows that food there will be bangin’ if his Granny did the cooking.
“I don’t cook. I’ll go to my grandmother’s house; it’s always safe there to eat. You know the food is always decent, Sometimes she’ll allow my aunts and uncles to bring food there and I can tell when she didn’t do it. It doesn’t taste the same.”50 Cent even took time out on twitter to shout out the event.
